Police hunt two men who robbed a game center
One of the men held a knife and pointed it at an elderly female staff member and the other punched her and said 'robbery' in not very fluent Cantonese
Police are searching for two men who robbed and assaulted a 71-year-old female staff member at a game center in Kowloon’s Yau Ma Tei on Thursday.
Shortly after the game center on Waterloo Road in Yau Ma Tei closed at 1am, two men wearing face masks went into the building, the Oriental Daily reported.
One of the men held a 25-centimeter knife and pointed it at the elderly woman cashier and said “robbery” in not very fluent Cantonese. The other man punched the woman and grabbed HK$60,000 (US$7,654) in cash. The two then ran away.
The woman called police and paramedics arrived and treated her injuries. She refused to go to hospital for a check-up. Police searched the area but no one was arrested.
After checking surveillance camera footage and based on the woman’s description, police are now hunting for two South Asian men aged between 30 and 40 who were about 1.7 meters tall and wore dark-colored tops and face masks during the robbery.
