Husband returned from work to find her lying in pool of blood with throat slit
A 28-year-old woman was murdered at her residence in Colaba on Wednesday morning by an unidentified person who barged in, assaulted her and slit her throat with a sharp object.
According to the Hindustan Times, the victim, identified as Shweta Mahendra Tandel, was killed between 8.45 am and 12.30 pm on Wednesday, after her husband Mahendra had left for work.
A police official was quoted as saying: “Shweta was staying with her husband at Colabawadi. [He] left for work at 8.45 am. When he returned home for lunch at 12.30 pm, he found his wife lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit.”
Her husband rushed her to St George Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
A case has been lodged under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
