Shanghai to boost AI sector through talent, data and capital

Shanghai has put forward 22 new measures to promote the development of the artificial intelligence sector, focusing on talent, data and capital, Yicai.com reported.
The government will help AI talent to obtain work permits and residence permits to stay in the city, provide international education to their children, and offer healthcare services as well as housing subsidiaries.
Meanwhile, the government will speed up the introduction of related regulations in order to open public data on key areas such as education, medical care and tourism to AI enterprises.
In terms of capital support, Shanghai will incorporate artificial intelligence into the city’s key strategic emerging industries.
At the same time, the government will encourage social capital to set up a 100 billion yuan-scale artificial intelligence development fund to provide capital and financial support for AI enterprises.
In the future, Shanghai is expected to build about 60 artificial intelligence in-depth application scenarios and more than 100 artificial AI demonstration projects, create at least three AI featured towns and five AI demonstrated parks.
