Singapore woman jailed over changing room videos
29-year-old sentenced to 30 weeks after secretly filming three women and then selling scenes to online sex forum
A 29-year-old Singaporean woman was sentenced to jail for 30 weeks by a Singapore court on Tuesday after she pleaded guilty to three counts of intruding into the privacy of three women three years ago.
Between April 19 and May 3, 2014, Heng Li Ying secretly took videos on five occasions in the changing rooms of the True Fitness outlet at Suntec City Mall, Liane Zaobao reported.
She had been doing similar things in other changing rooms for five months previously. During the period, she made about S$1,540 (US$1,100) by selling the videos, ranging from 1 to 2 minutes each, to 22 people over Sammyboyforum.com, an online forum with sections that allow netizens to exchange obscene material.
She priced the videos at 10 to 20 Singapore cents per second with free obscene videos as gifts.
The True Fitness operator later identified the videos and called the police, who arrested Heng on May 7, 2014, The Straits Times reported.
Heng, a graduate of the National University of Singapore, had previously admitted the charges and was sentenced on Tuesday in the court. She was allowed to delay the start of her sentence until June 12 to allow her to finish her existing job.
