A 25-year-old Singaporean tourist learned the hard way that a friend in need is not always a friend indeed after he ended up in a Hong Kong hospital with a bloody head.

The Singaporean, surnamed Kuah, was attacked by his friend after a Saturday night drinking session in Lan Kwai Fong in Central.

At 4am on Sunday, the tourist was walking with his friend toward their flat in a residential building on 3 Glenealy Road in Central, Oriental Daily reported. Outside the building, they quarreled and the friend hit the Singaporean in the head with a glass bottle.

Kuah, whose head was bleeding, called the police and was then sent to hospital. The police classified the case as an assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was looking for Kuah’s friend.
