A 32-year-old man was arrested after injuring his girlfriend during a row at a guesthouse in Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui on Monday morning.
At 8.30am, the man named Babayar and his 29-year-old girlfriend named Soyolmda were in a heated argument about their relationship.
The man was said to have become emotional and began waving a broken piece of glass that he picked up from the floor. The woman’s left hand was cut as she tried to calm him down. The couple are of South Asian origin.
A 60-year-old security guard surnamed Choi called the police.
The man was arrested for allegedly assault on his girlfriend with broken glass, Apple Daily reported, while the woman was treated at the hospital.
Media reports and police did not disclose the nationality of the man.
