Surgeon arrested for ‘hidden camera’ set up in hospital
Chan saved videos from the changing room to a shared computer in the hospital and they were discovered by other staff when they used the computer
A male surgeon at Hong Kong’s Kwong Wah Hospital has been arrested for allegedly putting a hidden camera in a changing room at the hospital.
The doctor, surnamed Chan, aged 30, was arrested by police for obtaining access to a computer with intent to commit an offense or with a dishonest intent in Kowloon’s Yau Ma Tei on Monday, Headline Daily reported.
Chan was accused of putting a hidden camera in a changing room on the seventh floor of Kwong Wah Hospital and filming two female colleagues, aged 23 and 25, when they got changed in October and November.
He later saved the videos to a shared computer in the hospital and the films were discovered by other staff when they used the computer.
Two victims reported the case to the management on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the hospital said the doctor had been suspended from his duties but would fully cooperate with the police on further inquiries. The hospital emphasized that no patients were involved in the case, Oriental Daily reported.
Chan was released on bail and needs to report to the police in mid-December.
