Technology: now, you can post 360-degree pics on FB
A perfect “turnaround” to prop up the most-popular online social network: Facebook has taken another step towards bringing virtual reality closer to the masses by introducing the facility to post 360-degree photographs on its timelines.
Users of the social network can now shoot such photographs with their latest smartphones and post them on their timelines.
Be the first one to use this technology and stun your Facebook friends.
What’s it? 360-degree photos are spherical photos either taken with a dedicated VR camera or individual photos stitched together. On mobile phones, these photos can be explored by simply tilting the device. Desktop users can click and drag to move the photo and look at every angle.
When viewed with a compatible Samsung phone, Facebook will also display a dedicated “view in VR” button. Users then simply have to insert the phone into their Gear VR headsets to watch the photo in a more immersive experience, Yahoo reported.
How to shoot? Facebook app does not provide the option to shoot 360-degree photos. But you can download and use apps that allow you to shoot such pictures.
