Three women robbed at same bank in Malaysia
Police are reportedly patrolling the area more often given the frequent robberies at the financial institution
Three women were targeted at different times at the same bank branch in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. At 10:30pm on August 19, a 50-year-old Singaporean woman visited the bank to withdraw some cash, Shin Min Daily News reported.
A robber, allegedly of Malay ethnicity, entered the bank, grabbed her handbag and fled on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice. The woman sustained light scratches on her forehead, left elbow and both knees. An estimated 16,500 ringgit (US$3,855) was lost.
About an hour earlier, a 25-year-old pregnant woman, who was expecting to give birth in September, was also robbed, likely by the same group of criminals. She was pushed to the floor and sustained minor injuries to her hands and legs.
The woman and her baby were said to be in stable condition after a hospital checkup.
Last Thursday evening, a Filipino woman was preyed on by robbers at the same bank.
