Thundershowers lashing Mumbai expected to continue
Suburban train services delayed and road traffic disrupted in some areas
Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rains along with thunder and lightning since Thursday evening, delaying suburban train services and disrupting traffic on roads in some areas, PTI reported.
After Thursday’s downpour, Central Railway and Western Railway’s services ran by 5-10 minutes late. Areas including Dadar, Bandra, Vile Parle, Santacruz and Andheri received the most rainfall. Dadar recorded the highest level of precipitation at 44 millimeters. To tackle flooded roads, the authorities used 29 dewatering pumps.
The India Meteorological Department said that rain or thundershowers are likely to continue for the next 24 to 48 hours.
High tide was expected at 7:33 pm on Friday at 3.64 meters. The tide is expected to be at its lowest at 2:01 pm.
