‘Triad’ men arrested over intimidation of debtor, say police
Reports say the victim had failed to repay a HK$15,000 loan made in 2016
Two Hong Kong men described by police as having triad backgrounds have been accused of deliberately pouring red paint on the door of a neighbor after he failed to make payments to them. The two were arrested, separately, in Kwai Chung and Yau Ma Tei, on Thursday morning.
At 6am, a 34-year-old man car sales agent, and a 23-year-old driver, were arrested for allegedly causing criminal damage to an unit of Grandeur Terrace in Tin Shui Wai on April 14, according to a report by Oriental Daily.
Police say the two suspects were sent to intimate the debtor after he had failed to repay a HK$15,000 (US$1,925) loan made in 2016. They claim the men were paid HK$300 each for pouring the paint on the door.
