Trump’s ‘armada’ can’t even shoot down Kim’s missiles
The Carl Vinson strike group has a lot of bells and whistles, but it can’t shoot down ballistic missiles
The US Navy’s USS Carl Vinson carrier strike group is finally on its way to the Korean Peninsula, but the move is more symbolic than anything else. As Bloomberg reports, the so-called “armada” can’t even shoot down ballistic missiles.
“One carrier by itself is not a game changer,” Bloomberg quoted Omar Lamrani of Stratfor as saying. Despite all the attention the ship is getting, the Carl Vinson is “not going to do terribly much by itself,” he added.
