Two teenage boys accused of raping classmate in Philippines
The two suspects, aged 16 and 19, went to a bar with a female classmate, also 16, after class
Two teenage boys were arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old classmate after a night out drinking in Quezon City, Philippines.
On Saturday evening in Barangay Holy Spirit, the two boys, aged 16 and 19, allegedly went to a bar with a female classmate after class. When the girl, who had gotten drunk, wanted to go home, the two boys drove her to a house where they allegedly raped her, GMA News reported.
One of the boys took the girl to a transport terminal after the incident. The next day, she told her cousin what had happened and they reported the matter to the police.
On Monday, police arrested the two boys on suspicion of rape. The 16-year-old suspect said he did not know what happened as he was also drunk at the time. The other suspect said he never intended for the incident to happen.
Chief Inspector Sandie Caparroso of Quezon City Police District said parents should guide their children and remind them not to drink alcohol when they are underage to avoid similar incidents in the future.
The two suspects were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development as they are both minors.
