US dollar to get stronger under Trump, says strategist
Trump's tax cut bill and repatriation tax will result in significant in-flows to the US, benefitting the US economy as a whole and strengthening the dollar

The US dollar will continue to strengthen in the medium-term thanks to the economic policies of US President Donald Trump, according to Uwe Parpart, chief strategist at Capital International.

Trump’s tax cut bill and repatriation tax – which will help American companies to bring overseas earnings back onshore – will result, Parpart said, in significant in-flows to the US, benefitting the US economy as a whole and strengthening the dollar.
He added that the low-tax climate in the US would likely attract investment from overseas companies.
Parpart, who was speaking on CNBC’s Street Signs program, is also editor of Asia Times.
