Video shows dramatic firepower at Russia’s Vostok war games
Nearly 300,000 servicemen were involved in the drills, with 36,000 vehicles, up to 80 ships and support vessels, and over 1,000 aircraft.
Russia staged an impressive display of military might at the Vostok war games, which ended on Monday.
The Vostok-2018 exercise was the largest held by Moscow since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Nearly 300,000 servicemen were involved in the drills, with 36,000 vehicles, up to 80 ships and support vessels, and over 1,000 aircraft.
Several thousand Chinese troops traveled by train to join the drills staged in the Russian Far East.
The main site of the massive drill was the Tsugol Training Range in the Zabaykalsky Krai federal region that straddles the borders of Russia, China and Mongolia.
Russia said the Vostok drills were not directed against NATO states in Europe and did not affect their security as the exercises were held far from the NATO countries.
