‘Most wanted’ fugitive Guo Xin surrenders to police
Former associate professor at Yunnan University was charged with concealing and disguising the proceed of crime
Guo, 53, a former associate professor of history at Yunnan University, was charged with concealing and disguising the proceeds of crime and fled the country for the United States in August 2010, the same month her ex-husband Jiang Chunguang was arrested.
Jiang, the president of a hospital in Yunnan, was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of accepting bribes. He has since been released.
The “Red Notice” was issued by Interpol in April 2015. Many of the fugitives are former government officials or employees of state-owned enterprises.
Guo was the No.27 on the list and the 47th to return so far, officials said.
