SINGAPORE -
Singapore-listed Asia Dekor Holdings Limited, the
only vertically integrated producer and
distributor of laminated floor and related
products in Asia, is pleased to announce the
successful completion of its particleboard
production plant in Huizhou, in China's Guangdong province, with
the first board being produced on 24 January 2006.
With a total investment of approximately
US$30 million, the new plant is claimed to be the
most advanced and largest production facility of
particleboard in China. With a annual production
capacity of 200,000 cubic meters, the plant was
built over 15
months using state-of-the-art
German technology. The particleboard facility is
strategically located in Huizhou, which is known
as China's largest furniture production region,
with Dongguan and Shenzhen being the leading
markets.
According to the company, the
commencement of particleboard production signifies
a milestone in its strategy of business
diversification and broadening its product range.
Liu Gongting, chairman of Asia Dekor, said: "We
are pleased to see the completion of our new plant
in Huizhou. With this new production capability,
we are set to capture a share of the lucrative
furniture raw materials market, where demand [for]
quality particleboard is high and supply is
lacking. We are of the view that this new line of
production perfectly compliments our existing
floorboard business, and we are confident that
this new revenue stream will make a significant
contribution to Asia Dekor in the years to come."
Management expects that the commissioning of the
plant will continue until the end of February and
commercial production will begin in March.

laminated wood flooring, particleboard and related
