What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering
summaries of regularly changing web content. RSS helps web users to stay
informed by retrieving summaries of the latest content from the sites they are
interested in.
In order to read RSS you'll need Feed Reader or News Aggregator software which
allows you to grab the RSS feeds from various websites and read them.
Mozilla Thunderbird, an email client
and popular alternative to Outlook Express, has one built in, or there's
Sharp
Reader, a simple, free RSS reader.
If you have a Yahoo account, get read RSS at
my.yahoo.com.
All you need to do is add the location of Asia Times Online's feed, [
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/atol.rss ], to your reader software. You'll get
our headlines, updated daily, and can click on them to access the full text of
the articles on our website.
Once you have your Feed Reader, find sites that syndicate content and add their
RSS feed to the list of feeds your Feed Reader checks. Many sites display a
small icon with the acronyms RSS, XML, or RDF to let you know a feed is
available.
